The School-Time LeapTop is an interactive preschool learning toy. It covers the important basics of learning the alphabet and counting to ten. The child can even ask for hints from Leap or Lily, the characters who ask the questions. Base2 designed and implemented the state machine necessary to run the game. Conserving ROM space was a big consideration since this is a toy product, and the cost constraint was immovable. Base2 collaborated with the audio and graphics designer to keep the ROM usage as low as possible while keeping the gameplay as interesting as possible.
